Easter and Conference

MAMAMAMAMAMAMAMA!

Wasn´t conference amazing?!  I was so glad that we had electricity in the Chapel!  We were able to get the branch together and watch it VIA internet, in Spanish of course.  I wasn´t able to understand everything but I got the jest and I was able to really apply it to myself.  I really loved the talk by Linda.  I´m not sure what she really said but I understood that the church is one big family and we need to learn to love each other and work together.  I guess the whole world is one big family.  I am trying really hard to show the Love of Christ here. It is one of my goals.

I miss working in the yard.  Well mostly I just miss seeing grass. Everything is cement and buildings here.  I don´t know how they have plants growing in the cement but they do.

Valle De Bravo is a little tourist town.  This past week was a vacation week in Mexico,  and it seems like everyone in Mexico came to Valle De Bravo.  The streets were packed.  It was a little difficult to work with people because it is a great opportunity to work.  (Note from Mom, I'm not quite sure what she is trying to say here.  I think her Spanish and English are already starting to get mixed up.)  Don´t they know that they can have more blessings if they went to church and obeyed the commandments?!  I guess that is why I am here right?!

My comp is 21, and yes we do share clothes.  In the mission we share everything because we are very poor and we want to live. (Again, not sure what she is trying to say here.)

I don´t think I will get to help with the Mexico City Temple Dedication but it is still to early to tell.  We will see what is going to happen.

In my area it is just me and Hna Cabrera. There are two other elders in my district here in Valle. and I don´t know how many people are in my zone.  We walk every day and only take taxis and buses when we have to go to the little towns boarding Valle or zone conferences. And no I don´t need money transferred.  We have a certain amount of money for transportation but these two changes we have more meetings than usual.  But all is restored. (Note from Mom again, Seriously...what?  I  promise she usually makes more sense than this. Ha ha)

This week has been full of hard work.  I have a firm testimony that Heavenly Father answers prayers  especially specific prayers.  BUT we need to do our part.  I am learning so much out here it is crazy!

Well mom I don´t really have any pictures for this week but I will send some next week!  We are off to have the best P Day Ever!

Love you Tons!

Zone Conference

(Note from Mom:  We didn't receive Caitlin's email till about 6:30 PM today.  I think that is why it seems a little jumbled.  I tried to edit it to make sense but I am not sure  I did a very good job.  I think it was a quick email because it was so late.)

MOM!

So sad to hear that Lynn passed away. Those pictures are amazing! I love the Patterson´s with all my heart especially because of their willingness to serve.  I love that...Service. Such a good word and it is exactly what the church is about.  We are the church of Christ and Christ´s life was centered in service.  We try to end our days with doing an act of service.  Usually we help someone close up shop.  It is a lot of fun!  Have you seen the video Because He Lives?!  Soo Beautiful!

This week we had a lot of meetings.  A zone meeting, interviews, and a meeting for the new missionaries (me) and the trainers.   I loved it so much!  Something that helped me so much is that really, I am going to be a missionary for my whole life.  If you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, you are a missionary.  We are one family trying to help our Father have all of His children return to His presence.

We spent the night with the Sister Training Leaders because we didn´t have enough money to go and return.  We went on exchanges and while we were contacting we saw a man on the side of the road playing his guitar.  My companion started to contact.  After a while another person walked up and my companion started to talk to him.  I finished the contact with the man on the side of the road.  I asked him if he likes to play the guitar and if he knew how to play La Bamba.  He said yes and started to play....These were his first words, ¨Why am I alone.....¨ He did not play La Bamba.  I sat there for a good 3 minutes listening to his life story.  HAHAHAHAHA  He was singing at the top of his lungs too!  Oh man I am still in the search to find someone to play La Bamba.

This week we have been working with the members.  Oh man I love it so much!  We had a very powerful lesson with a women named Christian.  She came up to us one night and asked, ´´Are you Moronis?´´ Ha ha.  Turns out her friend was married in the temple and Christian loved the temple but didn´t know why she couldn´t enter.  Well we had a lesson with her and with a member who is preparing for the temple.  It was amazing to hear her conversion story and how she knows, without a doubt, that this is the Church of Jesus Christ.

I can see my Spanish improving everyday.  The biggest thing that I need to do now is have courage and expand my vocabulary. The Gift of Tongues is real.

I got your Valentine and the one from Hailey!  You can bet your bottom dollar that I cried.  Thank you so much for your love!

We weren´t able to see the woman´s broadcast because right now, the church we go to, doesn´t have electricity.  We are hoping that we will have it this week but if not we are going to go to Metepec for the broadcast.  Was the Women's Conference amazing?!

No worries about packages.  We are living the dream here.  Also I don´t think I am going to send a lot of big packages home because I don´t want to risk the possibility of it never getting home.  But I will send some goodies!

Love you tons!  Keep on Keeping on!
