I Love my Life!

MOM!

I am so grateful right now!  i just found out some wonderful news about my friends and I love the church and I love my companion and I love Zitacuaro and I love the mission and I love you!  I have never been so blessed in my life!

This week was amazing!  I have done a lot of things that I have always wanted to do in my mission in this short transfer with Hermana Suarez!  First we brought Josefina to church!  We did the impossible and brought a Jehovah Witness to church!  Usually the JW´s don´t even want to talk with us but Josefina is different!  She is looking for the truth and she has changed a lot in just the little time that she went to church.  She started calling God, Heavenly Father!  It is amazing!  I love that she has this desire and I love that my companion has the desire to help all of the people!

We had an activity for the primary and we were helping them with missionary work.  They were missionaries for a day and they helped us with contacting people.  We flooded the streets with pamphlets and cards from the church and we got a few references so that we can go and visit them!  I have always wanted to flood the streets with the gospel!

Also I cut my hair.  For the first time in 13 months my hair has shape again!  I love it!  But the only thing is that it is a little short now....jajaja!

Honestly being here in Zitacuaro has been one of the best experiences that I have ever had! I love sharing the gospel with everyone and I love the people here!  I have learned so much and I don´t want to leave.

Funny story with our family of five.........we only found the dad.  I don´t know what happened to the wife and the three kids but now there is a different kid there and we are really confused BUT we are going to work really hard to help them progress!

This next week we will be having a baptismal service for Norma and Alexis!  They have been progressing so much and the next week looks like it will be Juan Carlos and after him Abraham and we are working with a few people that have been to church.  I am glad that Zitacuaro is accepting more openly now!

I love you so much!

The computer isn´t reading my card but I have some great photos to send you...next week!

Keeping the V-day tradition alive!

MOM!

This week was amazing!  My testimony has grown so much that I KNOW that God answers our prayers!  WE FOUND OUR FAMILY OF 5!  It was Friday and we had 13 contacts to do to finish the piso.  We went throughout the whole day being rejected and not having our appointments but then at the end of the day we remembered that we told Heavenly Father that we were going to find the family of five that day.  I saw a family of 4 walking in the street and I just remember thinking that they could have a child at home so we went and contacted them and we asked them how many kids they had.  Turns out that they do have 3 kids and that makes our family of 5.  The Esquivel Family is going to be a great addition to the branch and the parents are excited to be learning more about God.

Also in the spirit of love and friendship I decided to make breakfast for my companion today!  We didn't have time yesterday but I decided that a little Drew Tradition couldn´t hurt.  Pancakes and strawberry milk!  The bad thing is that I didn´t have time to buy socks....(Note from Mom: We have a tradition of Valentine breakfast and Valentine socks at the Drew home.)

It is about time that Rach and Dan are engaged!  I sure hope that they wait until I am home!  I just want to be a part of one wedding....that is all I ask.....

The work is going along great!  I am really blessed to have such an amazing companion!  She has helped me so much!  I feel like I am on top of the world!

Also this week I had a member that made me eat a chicken bone.....It was one of the grossest things in the world.  The texture, the flavor, everything!  Be glad that you don´t have to suck the blood out of a chicken bone......

Well I don´t know what else I can tell you just that I am happy and I love the mission!

LOVE;
Hermana Drew

MOM!

ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT I AM SO HAPPY!  I LOVE THE WORK!  I LOVE MY COMPANION!  I LOVE THE PICTURES OF DREW!  AND I LOVE YOU!

This week I am so grateful for a companion that has the desire to work!  A little bit about Hermana Suarez....she is 19 years old from Quito Ecuador and she has been on her mission for almost 3 weeks!  This is her first transfer and she is doing an excellent job!  She has worked so hard to overcome her fears and it is showing in the work!  She has 2 sisters and lives with her parents.  She was baptized when she was 9 years old and her dad just barely was baptized a year ago.  She plays the piano and was studying to be a doctor before she came on her mission.  She is just an all around good person!

We have been having a blast contacting and teaching and getting to know each other! I am so blessed to be her trainer.  I am not an STL anymore because they closed another area of the sisters.  The zone is really small now and we didn`t have any changes with the elders.  The only thing that changed was that we are now working the whole branch by ourselves.   It is a lot of work but it will be worth it!

gah.....5 months.  Don`t get me wrong I am really excited to see you again but I don't want to have to worry about my future yet.  It`s alright 5 months left!

Congrats on finishing the Book of Mormon!  It is the best!

I LOVE YOU MORE!

I am still working on the whole taking pictures but this week we only had 2.....sorry.  Today we went out to eat!  It was really good!

NO WAY! A SNOW DAY!?

MAMA!

I CAN¨T BELIEVE YOU!  TAY HAD A SNOW DAY!?  I waited my whole high school career to have a snow day!  I miss the snow so much but I am glad that it doesn´t snow here because we don´t have the right clothes to work.......

Well, we had transfers and Hermana Ramirez left Zitacuaro.  I am now here with Hermana Suarez from Ecuador!  I am training her!  She is a fantastic missionary and she really knows how to work!  There is nothing that makes me more happy than having a companion that loves to work!  She is really brave too!  Contacting, inviting people to be baptized and everything! This is going to be a great transfer!

This past week we had a lot of people in church!  I was so glad to see less actives return and see some investigators show up by themselves!  I love seeing how much the people change when they hear a little bit about the gospel!

We have a family that we are teaching.  Their names are Norma and Alexis.  It is a little family  with a strong testimony of Christ!  They have such a great desire to go to church read the Book of Mormon and to say their prayers!  I love listening to how much their testimonies have grown!

One thing that I want everyone to do here is read the Book of Mormon.  There are so many members in the world that have never read the Book of Mormon and it is the only way that we can know if the church is true!

Thank you for always writing me and loving me and praying!  I love the church, the gospel, and being a missionary!

Love,
Hermana Drew

Year mark and butterflies!

MOM!

It is so sad to say goodbye but really it is something great that you can say that you helped us be so independent. (Note from Mom.  I helped our oldest daughter move to Texas this last week) I am grateful everyday to say that I am the way I am because of what my mom taught me. (Note from Mom, This is one of those times when I'm patting myself on the back and saying "Yes, I finally did something right!")

This week was great!  It is weird to say that I have a year in the mission but I have loved every moment!  This week we had a zone conference and we talked to the sisters about the time in the mission.  I shared the 548 Days story and I was crying like a baby.  Especially when I realized that I had already completed 365 days!  It is amazing how fast the time goes and how much we change but I love the mission with all of my heart.  Sometimes I don't want to go home but I know that I need to give the chance to somebody else. (Another note from mom.  The story she is talking about you can find on line at www.daystoserve.com  take a minute and look it up.  It is very inspiring.)

This week we went to see the butterflies again.  This time they were flying all around!  I loved watching them!  We actually had one of the most spiritual walks ever!  We always relate things to our life but I think that this time it actually sunk in.  The hike was so hard.  2 hours almost.  The whole time we had people walking by us with horses and telling us that we still had 3 hours to walk and that it only gets harder.  Honestly it would have been nice to ride the horse but with mission rules and everything we can't do it.  So we kept on walking and every step was killing me.  Every time that they asked us to get on the horses we explained that we are missionaries and that we have rules that we need to keep.  It made me think that in this life, Satan is always there when we have trials,  telling us that it gets harder,  that it is easier over here, or that we just need to take the easy way out but really everything that happens on the path happens for a reason.  We would have paid a lot of money in the trip and broken mission rules if we used the horses and it wouldn`t have been as gratifying.  It is the same in our life.  Even though we are walking so much and everyone is telling us that we can`t, WE CAN!  We just need to keep walking.

I love every trial that has been in my life.

LOVE,
Hermana Drew
