Joaquin's baptism

MOM!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!  I love the pictures of Tay!  I bet she has had a blast being 16!  She has had so many dates!  I love the prom pics!  Tay looks so pretty in her dress!

MOM!  My birthday was the best!  My leaders that whole week when they would call in for reports they would always tell me happy birthday and I have a great video when they sang for me! I can´t wait to show the videos from my mission!  They are great!  I haven´t gotten the package yet but I think that next week it will be in my hands...I hope...Hermana Whitehead and President Whitehead sang to me on my birthday and it felt just like home!  They sing amazingly!

This week was great!  We had a great baptism!  The spirit was so strong! I  love that Joaquin was able to surprise his family!  The spirit was so strong when the wife saw him in white!  It was  a lot of work to get him there but when we were in the baptism service we were so nervous that the wife was going to know of the baptism before he was baptized.  (Note from Mom: She didn't mention this was a surprise but from what she has written, I'm guessing it was.)

We had transfers and I am now with Hermana Rodriguez!  She is from Ensenada BC and has the same time in the mission as Hermana Soria and Suarez!  I am sad that Hermana Soria left but I am excited to work this transfer!  I think that we are going to see so many miracles!

Also in two weeks I am going to be able to talk with you guys again!  Time has flown since the last time we talked!  I can´t believe that the time is flying so fast!  I don´t know what to think and honestly I am scared that I won´t know what to do when I get home but I am going to keep myself busy with many things to do with the church and my friends and family and my companions!  Just keep me busy and I will be fine!

I love you so much!

Having troubles with the keyboard!

MOM!

(Note from Mom: I decided to leave this email the way it is because I thought it might be fun for Caitlin to see what this looks like , later on.)

This keyboard isnt the best Iam getting really stressed writing here. So I thinkthat this letter will be a little short!

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! This birthday is goingn to be great!  I lovet hat every year we are changing so much!

I have to admit that I was a little scared when I read the letter for Austins invite...I thought that he had died and I was wondering why you would put such a thing in my letter but after reading it for a few times I finally understood! (it was a bachelors party.)

This week was great! ehave another family that we are teaching andt hey are great! The dad has a band of 70s and 60 rock! when we go to visit them we sing the hymn swith the keyboard!  We have felt the spirit so strong with them and they accpeted baptism! The first night there they asked me what I new how to play and I talked about how dad was in a band and we have all of the music from queen and styx and I started playing a little.when I started playing styx the mom started crying and said thatI just play beautifully and she loved every momoment! I am so greatfult hat Kristina made me practice so much and knok what what she wrote me before my mission is true that my music abilities do affects lives even if itis come sail away by styx. jajajajaj

Well l this keyboard has given me enough.....here are some pics from the week.

I am sorry for the space issue.......

Crepes in Mexico!

I taught some members how to make crepes!

Reality sets in!

Oh mom what can I tell you......The truth is I cried when I saw my flight schedule.  I am crying even more because I don´t know what I am going to do with my life.  Don´t get me wrong I am excited to see you again but I don´t want to stop working.,  There is so much to be done and I wish I could do everything to stay here.

Taylor looks stunning in her pics!  I bet she had a blast!  and I bet that her band sounds great!  Do you think they will let me join too?  Or is that not cool. I could play the banjo! (Note from Mom, Caitlin's sister went to prom and played in a band, two separate things)

Dad sent me a picture of the temple!  It looks great!  I feel like they are finishing faster than the Brigham City temple did!  We will have to have a contest to see what temple is prettier... hahahaha!

This week we have been looking for the miracles!  I have learned a lot about patience and diligence! I know that it is how we can see the blessing from God!  We must continue forward!

I don´t really have anything else to say!  but I love you so much!

Miracles can happen!

MOM!

This week was one of the most spiritual weeks that I have had! I am so grateful for the Atonement and that every single one of us have the opportunity to repent! I feel like the mission is changing and I am so excited to be apart of the gran mision again! I had actually started my sanctification personal before the conference but I decided to start again with the whole mission and it has shown in just ending the week! (Note from Mom: I'm sure this last statement must be something that is lost in translation.  We have been getting more and more of those kind of emails.)

This week we were trying to get a lot of the less actives and new members to go to conference! I am so glad that two of the recent converts were ready to be there and their testimonies have grown so much! I was so happy to hear one convert say that he knows that Thomas S, Monson is a prophet!

My favorite part of the conference was Jeffery R. Holland's talk and D. Todd Christofferson's talk! I know that the second one was for dads but I felt my relationship grow stronger with my Heavenly Father and my father here on earth as I pondered the message! I only heard 5 minutes of Jefferey R Hollands talk because we had some problems with the internet but what I could hear was exactly what I needed! I learn that I do play a part in this plan and I am making a difference with every person that I talk to! I love the church with all of my heart and I know without a doubt that it is the true church!

We had received some revelation this week for our goals and we had some amazing stories! After my interview with you (Another note from Mom: Pretty sure I didn't have an interview with Cait, I would definitely remember that, so I'm not sure what she is saying here.) I knew what I need to do here in Atla and we have been working on finding families! I am happy to report that almost all of our investigators are part of families! Hermana Soria had received the revelation that we were going to find 10 new this week that were going to accept baptism. We started looking and the first day we found 1, the next day 2 and the next day 3. That left the rest for Sunday. With Conference, we didn´t have a lot of time to work but we left the conference with a great spirit that we started thinking about who we are going to visit and what we were going to share. As we were walking down the street I remembered that we had contacted someone and went to his house but he wasn´t there. As we knocked on the door, 4 smiling faces came to greet us! The man didn't end up living there but the familia Jaramillo accepted our visit and accepted that we would return! They have also accepted going to church but time escaped us and we didn´t have time to put a baptismal date! We had finished the goal of finding 10 new people to teach!

Also we have found a lot of miracles here. I woke up one day and thought. Today we are going to find a person with 3 asistences in the church who is ready to hear us. We started working and went to visit another part member family and that is when we met Alverado! He is a family friend that has 3 asistences and is ready to accept baptism! (Again a note from Mom:  I'm not sure what she means by 3 asistences.  If anyone knows, maybe you could fill me in.)

On Sunday Hermana Soria told me that we were going to find in the church someone that had all of the asistences and we are going to baptism him. As we finished the first session we met Juaquin! He is husband of a member and he offered to help us with visits! We have appointments with every single investigator and we are seeing all of the miracles because we have been obedient!  (Last note from Mom:  All I can say is HOLY COW!  We might have a language barrier when she gets home.  As you can tell, I kind of gave up the editing on this one.)

I love the church so much and I am grateful for this time that I have to be a missionary!

This is a note from Caitlin's mom,  I decided to add Caitlin's email with no editing so she could some day look back on this and try to translate it to us.

MOM!

I am so sorry to hear about Biz. That was something very unexpected!  I will be praying for the gaysons!

That is amazing that tay is starting to break out of her shell!  she is going to be an excellent young women! I can´t wait for the sister band!

Woo hoo!  backyard wedding!  I want to help with decorating!  It is going to be so beautiful!

I Love the Church!

MOM!

Can I just say that I LOVE the pictures that you sent!  I laughed to hard at the picture of all of the kids in the Easter egg hunt.  The last time we took the picture there weren't any babies....our families are growing so much!  It looks like you guys had a blast this weekend!  I am so glad that you are doing fun things at home!

This week was a roller coaster!  We had to close an elders house and spent 6 hours cleaning and getting everything moved.  Our house right now is a little bit unorganized but cleaning helps me de stress and I love organizing things!  It was a fun adventure and now we are spending time washing the blankets and pillows...by hand.....It is a lot of work!

Saturday night I really loved the Women's conference! I don´t know what happens with me every year but I always seem to forget who I am and as I go to the conference I realize that I am a daughter of God and I get a real big spiritual boost!  The talks were amazing and I am really excited to watch the rest of conference this weekend!

Sunday we baptized Sandy!  She is 14 years old and had been going to church for about a year and a half.  The elders had been trying to get permission from her mom but had failed many times.  As we got to her house to ask for permission, my companion and I just thought that we just need to share our testimonies and that is what we did.  Every single one of us shared our testimonies and the mom finally gave the permission!  It was a great experience!  Her baptismal service was amazing and very spiritual!  Sandy gave her testimony at the end and said that before she was just an  investigator but now she can say that she is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!  She is amazing and I am glad that we could grant her wish!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  Elder Kennington is my District leader!  He is a great leader and really encourages us to work as hard as we can!  Actually he will be going home with me in July.  And speaking of the plane ticket.....well it is a little too late to switch.  They already bought it and should be sending me the information soon.

I am so happy that Julia will be getting married!  And even more happy that she is waiting until I am home!  I am excited that I will have the time to be a part of this special moment!

The church is true!  The book is blue!  I am Hermana Drew!

LOVE YOU!

To answer some of your questions, I am about 3 1/2 hours from the mission home.  My area is actually pretty close to Tenancingo and Valle de Bravo.

I only want cards for my birthday!  and maybe a new dress.  but I just  think some really great hand written cards would be great!

My house is small but great!  I love it!
